Katherine Kazimer was a member of Woodson Crew for four years. During her junior and senior seasons Katherine served as co-captain and was named the team’s most valuable rower. Katherine earned first team All-Met in 2004 and 2005 and was named to the US Rowing Scholastic Honor Roll in 2005. During her sophomore year (2003) Katherine earned a bronze medal rowing in the senior four at the National Scholastic Rowing Championship and a silver medal at the State championship, with the Washington Post naming this boat Varsity Four Boat of the Year. As a junior Katherine won the National Scholastic Rowing Championship gold medal in the junior single and went on to represent the U.S. on the Junior National Development Team during the summer of 2004. Following graduation, Katherine attended Yale University where she rowed for four years. At Yale, Katherine won three Ivy League Championships and three Eastern Sprints (regional championships) as well as a gold medal at the Head of the Charles, the largest two-day regatta in the world. After college Katherine was commissioned as an officer in the United States Navy.
