2008-2023

Coach Susie Hamrock started coaching and teaching at Woodson High School in 2008, coaching the Woodson Varsity Swim & Dive teams for 15 years and the Varsity Girls Tennis team for 6 years. With Susie at the helm, the Boys Swim & Dive team has won 10 District, 3 Regional and a State (2020) championships, the Girls Swim & Dive team has won 9 District titles and 2 regional titles, and the Girls Tennis team has won 3 District, 2 Regional and a State championship (2018). Susie was recognized as All-Met Swim & Dive Coach of the Year in 2020 as well as the Eastern Region Swim & Dive Coach of the Year for the NHSCA. She also has been named the Woodson Coach of the Year several times as well as been honored as Female Coach of the Year by the FCPS Women’s Sports Outstanding Achievements committee (2016). As a teacher, Susie was named Outstanding Teacher of the Year for both Woodson and the Pyramid in 2022. For the past 12 years Susie has been the teacher representative of Relay for Life and has worked with hundreds of passionate students to raise almost $400,000 for the American Cancer Society to help the fight against cancer. Susie also is the proud parent of two Woodson graduates (Kyle 2018 and Kelly 2019) and one soon to be graduate (Katie 2023).
